Send a referral agreement
Most brokerages won't pay a referral fee without a signed referral agreement. Referral Loop fills it in from the referral, so you usually only check it and send.
Before you start
Make sure the referral has a receiving agent, and that both brokerages have a managing broker on file.
Steps
- Open the referral, go to Documents and choose New Agreement.
- At the top, beside the title, pick Referral Loop's agreement or your brokerage's form.
- Read it through. To change anything, click it on the page and type. If you changed something that comes from a record, like an agent's phone or your client's email, you're asked before it goes whether to update the record too or keep the change on this document only.
- Want to sign your part now? The first time, use Sign Now in the Your Signature box on the right to create your signature; it is saved to your account, so after that the box reads Signing As and you only click each of your spots. Sign Now walks you through them: the next box is ringed and brought into view, click it to sign, and Next takes you to the one after. When every box is signed, Finish opens the Send window. Change or remove it under Settings → Profile → My Signature. Your signature and the date go on the copy when you send it or save it. Save with some spots still unsigned and you're asked first; it saves with the signatures you placed. Save a form with none of your lines signed and Documents shows it as Waiting on you, with Sign to finish it. You can also send first and sign later.
- Under Signing As on the left, check who is on each line. Choose Change to pick someone else or to choose Needs to Sign or Can View. For somebody who isn't one of those lines, choose Add Signer, then pick them in Signing As and place their boxes with Place.
- Choose Send for Signature, add a note if you like, and send. Save and Cancel are under ··· beside it.
Everyone gets the agreement at the same time; nobody waits on anyone else. Each signing link works for seven days, and Referral Loop sends reminders after 2 days, then every 3 days, up to 3 times.
Sending the agreement also shares the referral with the receiving agent. They get one email, Sign and Open the Referral: opening it signs them in to Referral Loop (an account is made for them if they don't have one), the agreement is there to sign, and when they finish the referral is on their Referral Loop. Your client's details stay hidden until the agreement is signed, unless you chose otherwise in Parties.
After everyone signs
Everyone gets the signed copy by email, with its certificate as a separate PDF. You can also download the certificate from the signed agreement's preview in Documents. The agreement shows Signed, and the checklist step "Executed Referral Agreement Attached" is ticked for you. Move the referral to Agreement Signed.
Referral Loop's agreement is a general starting point, not reviewed for your state. Check with your managing broker before using it.
